About

Picture

I am Allison Hull, a fine art specialist with over twenty-five years of experience navigating the art markets of New Orleans, New York City, and Charleston. I founded Legacy Art Management to combine my archival precision with my expertise in high-level gallery sales, providing artists with a professional framework for long-term success.

My professional path in fine art began while I was studying Art History and Printmaking at Louisiana State University. While working in the archives department of LSU’s special collections library, I discovered a natural affinity for the protocols of historic preservation and organization. After graduation, I focused my work on the culture and history of New Orleans through archival projects with the Historic New Orleans Collection, non-profit cemetery preservation, and the Edgar Degas Foundation.

In 2000, I moved to New York City, where I transitioned from historical archiving into fine art archiving and collection management. My career there included working directly with prominent artists and collectors—including the French Nouveau Réaliste artist Arman—as well as managing logistics for industry leaders like Crozier Fine Art and Christie’s.

In 2013, I relocated to Charleston, where I spent nearly a decade as the Gallery Director for Hagan Fine Art. During my tenure, I worked closely with gallery ownership to transform the business into one of the city’s premiere luxury art destinations, specializing in high-level sales and strategic business development. My commitment to the local arts community extended beyond the gallery walls; I served for several years on the board of the Charleston Gallery Association, ultimately serving as President. This role allowed me to advocate for artists on a city-wide scale and deepened my expertise in navigating the unique intersection of creative passion and commercial success in a competitive market.

Since 2022, I have operated as an independent consultant, helping artists of all disciplines navigate the industry with a keen gallerist’s perspective. My work is dedicated to the business behind the art—from digital inventory management and a strong online online presence to building relationships with collectors and galleries.

As a working artist specializing in printmaking, I bring a firsthand understanding of the delicate balance required to maintain a creative practice while managing a high-standard professional business.
